We are currently seeking an experienced FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN!

 

Position: Facility Maintenance Technician

$26.00-27.00/HR BOE

Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire

 

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Requires flexibility for occasional after-hours, weekend, or emergency on-call work as needed)

?? Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Facility Maintenance Technician to oversee and maintain our facility, which includes a commercial office space and an active assembly and shipping warehouse.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of our physical infrastructure. You will maintain daily facility upkeep, troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues, and serve as an additional point of contact for external specialized vendors.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with sharp problem-solving skills, strong communication, and the ability to work both independently and as a team to keep our operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse, Office & General Maintenance

  • Routine inspection and minor troubleshooting of warehouse infrastructure.
  • Assist in monitoring basic mechanical systems to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform general plumbing repairs (clogs, faucet leaks, flush valve repairs & replacements).
  • Maintain interior and exterior lighting, including replacing ballasts and bulbs.
  • Conduct basic carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and office hardware adjustments (doors, locks, furniture resets).
  • Monitor commercial HVAC chiller systems, change filters, and perform basic troubleshooting before escalating to specialized vendors.
  • Keep warehouse egresses, shipping lanes, and critical mechanical areas clear of hazards.

Vendor Management & Safety Compliance

  • Act as the on-site escort and point of contact for specialized contractors (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural vendors).
  • Coordinate and oversee routine fire safety and life safety inspections (sprinkler systems, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting) with compliance vendors.
  • Maintain organized logs of all vendor services, routine maintenance, and safety inspections via a worker order system

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in commercial facility maintenance, building engineering, or a skilled trade (electrical, plumbing, or HVAC). Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or light industrial environment is highly preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial building systems (single and 3-phase electrical panels, commercial plumbing, HVAC systems, and dock equipment).
  • Communication & Comprehension: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to accurately follow technical manuals, document maintenance logs, and clearly communicate facility issues to management and outside vendors.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose mechanical issues quickly and determine whether to perform an in-house fix or escalate to a specialized vendor.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in warehouse environments with temperature variances, and stand/walk for extended periods and must be proficient in the safe, correct, and efficient operation of a wide variety of hand and power tools common to commercial facility maintenance.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience: $26-27 / hour
