An Edinburgh veneer manufacturer is looking to add a Maintenance Superintendent to their team! This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance department, driving preventative maintenance initiatives, and ensuring equipment reliability throughout the facility. The Maintenance Superintendent will lead a team of maintenance technicians while partnering with operations to maximize uptime, safety, and productivity.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Superintendent will oversee all maintenance operations within the plant, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. This individual will be responsible for directing maintenance personnel, prioritizing repairs, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and supporting continuous improvement efforts across the facility.
The Maintenance Superintendent Will:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
- Oversee maintenance activities on production equipment and facility systems.
- Coordinate preventative and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Prioritize and assign daily maintenance tasks based on operational needs.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues and provide guidance to technicians.
- Monitor equipment reliability and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with production, engineering, and safety teams to achieve plant goals.
- Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, and department resources.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and maintenance best practices.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.

Schedule:
- Day Shift
- Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm
- Additional hours as needed to support production and maintenance operations
Maintenance Superintendent Requirements:
- Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and industrial equipment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
