We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Hydro Tester to join our pressure vessel manufacturing team. The Hydro Tester will be responsible for performing hydrostatic and pressure testing of pressure vessels, tanks, piping, and related components to verify structural integrity, leak tightness, and compliance with applicable specifications, drawings, and quality requirements.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with pressure testing in a fabrication or manufacturing environment and understands the importance of following established testing procedures and safety requirements.
Perform hydrostatic pressure tests on pressure vessels and fabricated components.
Review drawings, specifications, test procedures, and applicable test requirements before testing.
Set up test equipment, pumps, hoses, gauges, fittings, valves, blinds, and test connections.
Fill, pressurize, hold, and depressurize vessels according to approved procedures.
Monitor pressure gauges and test conditions throughout the test cycle.
Inspect vessels and components for leaks, pressure loss, deformation, or other abnormalities.
Verify pressure gauges and test equipment are properly calibrated and suitable for the required test pressure.
Record test pressures, hold times, test results, and other required inspection information.
Identify and report leaks, defects, or testing issues to Quality, Engineering, and/or Production personnel.
Safely drain, vent, and prepare vessels for the next manufacturing operation.
Maintain accurate hydrostatic test records and documentation.
Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and pressure-testing safety practices.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform other duties related to pressure vessel testing and quality inspection as assigned.
Previous experience with hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, or pressure vessel manufacturing preferred.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, pressure vessel drawings, and written test procedures.
Familiarity with pressure gauges, hydrostatic test pumps, valves, fittings, and test equipment.
Basic understanding of pressure vessel fabrication and quality requirements.
Ability to accurately document test results.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.
Ability to lift, position, and handle testing equipment as required.
Experience working with ASME pressure vessels.
Familiarity with ASME Section VIII requirements.
Experience in a certified pressure vessel fabrication facility.
Experience with QA/QC documentation and inspection procedures.
Knowledge of hydrostatic and pneumatic testing requirements.
Previous experience in welding, fabrication, mechanical testing, or quality inspection.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to work around large industrial equipment and pressure vessels.
Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or platforms when required.
Ability to lift and handle tools, hoses, fittings, and testing equipment.
Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and wearing required PPE.
Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6am-4:30pm and Fridays as needed
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour.
