Oct. 18th-27th 11:30am-7:30pm
Oct. 30th-Nov. 1st 11:30am-7:30pm 

Temp-to-Hire: 
Monday-Friday, 12:00pm-8:30pm
Wednesday-Saturday, 7:00am-3:30pm
(Additional weekend and holiday shifts may be required.)

Pay: Starting at $26.00/hr

About the Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Cook to join its Dining Services team. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality meals for residents and guests while maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, sanitation, and kitchen safety.

The ideal candidate will have strong knife skills, a current Food Handler Card, and the ability to independently prepare and execute a full meal service in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, production sheets, and daily menus.
• Prepare ingredients, stock workstations, and set up for daily meal service.
• Prepare proteins, vegetables, starches, soups, sauces, stocks, salads, and other menu items.
• Maintain food quality, presentation, proper portions, and safe food temperatures.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
• Properly store, label, wrap, and rotate food products.
• Communicate supply needs and kitchen concerns to supervisors.
• Assist with kitchen cleaning, station breakdown, and special projects as needed.
• Work closely with the Dining Services team to ensure smooth meal service for residents and guests.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook or Line Cook required.
• Strong knife skills.
• Current Food Handler Card required.
• Ability to independently prepare and cook for a full meal service.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to safely use ovens, grills, fryers, slicers, mixers, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Background check required.
