Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (some overtime if needed)
Pay: $20/hour, depending on experience

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Clerk to join our team. This position is responsible for processing payroll for CDL drivers and administrative staff, ensuring accurate calculations, timely payments, and compliance with all payroll taxes. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in payroll processing, a strong understanding of payroll taxes, and advanced proficiency in Excel is a MUST.
Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly payroll for CDL drivers and administrative staff, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and commissions based on hours worked and applicable pay rates.
Manage payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other withholdings in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including quarterly and annual reports (e.g., 941, state unemployment reports).
Review and reconcile timecards and employee hours worked to ensure accuracy before payroll processing.
Maintain accurate payroll records, including personnel files, tax documents, and pay statements.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related issues and discrepancies.
Assist with audits and year-end tax reporting, including preparing W-2s for employees.
Provide payroll-related administrative support as needed to HR and other departments.
Utilize Excel to generate payroll reports, track earnings, and create necessary payroll data analysis for management.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or similar role, preferably with experience in processing CDL driver payroll.
In-depth knowledge of payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local tax laws.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a MUST
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll calculations and documentation.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees and management.
Knowledge of labor laws, wage and hour laws, and union agreements (if applicable) is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in payroll processing (e.g., CPP) is a plus.
