EHS & Facilities Coordinator

Location: Southwest Michigan
Schedule: 1st Shift Full-Time

Pay: Up to $65,000 per year

Express Employment Professionals is recruiting an EHS & Facilities Coordinator for a manufacturing company in Southwest Michigan.

This position will take the lead on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs and compliance while also providing coordination and administrative support for facility maintenance activities across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate has a strong safety background and is comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. This is not a Maintenance Manager position. Rather than personally managing or performing all maintenance work, this individual will help coordinate maintenance needs, contractors, schedules, work orders, and facility projects.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Health & Safety

  • Coordinate and support company EHS programs, policies, and compliance efforts.

  • Conduct routine safety inspections and hazard assessments.

  • Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.

  • Coordinate and conduct employee safety training.

  • Maintain PPE requirements, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and other safety documentation.

  • Support emergency preparedness and response procedures.

  • Help ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations.

  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.

Facilities & Maintenance Coordination

  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and compressed air.

  • Work closely with maintenance personnel, internal departments, vendors, and outside contractors to schedule and complete repairs.

  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, and facility records.

  • Coordinate vendors and contractors for maintenance and facility projects.

  • Assist with facility improvements, equipment installations, and building projects.

  • Track maintenance activities, vendor relationships, project needs, and facility-related expenses.

  • Help identify facility issues and ensure they are communicated and addressed in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in EHS, occupational safety, facilities coordination, maintenance administration, manufacturing safety, or a related field.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety programs.

  • Experience conducting safety inspections, training, or hazard assessments.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple maintenance requests, vendors, projects, and priorities.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • Comfortable working with employees, maintenance personnel, management, and outside contractors.

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.

  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can take ownership of workplace safety while keeping facility maintenance activities organized and moving forward. The right person will be proactive, detail-oriented, comfortable working on the manufacturing floor, and capable of balancing compliance requirements with day-to-day facility needs.

If you have a strong EHS or manufacturing safety background and enjoy coordinating projects, solving problems, and working with different departments and vendors, we'd like to hear from you.
