Job Description

We are currently seeking experienced and dependable Sit-Down Forklift Operators to join a busy Logistics and Distribution operation in West Chicago, IL.

This position is ideal for an experienced forklift operator who is comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and can accurately handle shipping manifests and related paperwork. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for safely moving, loading, unloading, and staging freight while ensuring all products and documentation are accurate.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit-down forklift throughout the warehouse
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and incoming shipments
• Move pallets, products, and materials to designated warehouse locations
• Stage outgoing freight for shipment and distribution
• Pick up, transport, stack, and organize palletized products
• Verify incoming and outgoing freight against manifest paperwork
• Complete, review, and maintain accurate shipping and receiving manifests
• Check product quantities, item numbers, and shipment information for accuracy
• Identify and report shortages, overages, damaged freight, or paperwork discrepancies
• Ensure freight is properly labeled, staged, and prepared for shipment
• Assist with inventory movement and general warehouse organization
• Perform basic forklift inspections before operating equipment
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and forklift operating guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Communicate with warehouse team members and supervisors regarding freight movement and shipment status
• Assist with additional warehouse duties as needed

Qualifications

• Previous sit-down forklift experience is required
• Previous experience working in a warehouse, logistics, shipping, receiving, or distribution environment preferred
• Experience handling manifests, shipping paperwork, or receiving documentation is strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable working with both freight and paperwork
• Ability to accurately read and verify product numbers, quantities, labels, and shipping information
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate a sit-down forklift
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Dependable attendance and punctuality are required
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a warehouse team
• Must be available to complete training on the required training schedule
