Salary: $150,000 - 200,000

We are currently looking for a Senior Estimator with extensive heavy civil construction experience in Hillsborough, NJ. A well-established civil construction company is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and driven estimating professional to lead competitive bids for complex heavy civil projects.

 

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00am - 5:00pm

Competitive Compensation

  • $150,000 - $200,000/year (based on experience)

Senior Estimator Responsibilities

  • Lead estimates and competitive bids for heavy civil projects by reviewing plans, specifications, scopes, and contract documents.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project costs.
  • Solicit, analyze, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing to develop accurate, competitive bids.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and leadership to develop complete estimates.
  • Identify project risks, cost concerns, exclusions, and opportunities while reviewing historical costs and current market conditions.
  • Prepare bid proposals, maintain estimating documentation, and ensure accurate, timely submission of multiple bids.

Senior Estimator Qualifications

  • Extensive experience estimating heavy civil construction projects, including complex civil work.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor pricing, and procurement.
  • Proficient in quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, bid preparation, and interpreting drawings, specifications, scopes, and contracts.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with construction estimating software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
