Delivery Driver Assistant

Location: Waterloo, IA
Pay: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 6:15 AM-5:00 PM
Type: Full-Time Opportunity with Potential for Hire-On

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Waterloo is seeking a Delivery Driver Assistant to join a local team. This position will assist with loading and unloading windows and doors in the warehouse and ride along with the primary delivery driver to make deliveries to job sites throughout Iowa and parts of Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse experience, be comfortable with heavy lifting, and provide friendly and professional service when interacting with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload windows, doors, and other materials from the warehouse
• Ride along with the primary delivery driver to make deliveries to customer job sites
• Assist with safely unloading and handling products at delivery locations
• Help ensure orders are loaded accurately and securely for delivery
• Assist with general warehouse duties as needed
• Maintain a friendly and professional attitude when interacting with customers
• Travel to delivery locations throughout Iowa and parts of Wisconsin
• Follow all company safety procedures when handling and transporting materials

Qualifications:

• Previous warehouse experience required
• Previous experience lifting and handling heavy merchandise
• Must be comfortable traveling out of town for deliveries
• Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with customers
• Dependable with strong attendance and reliability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a delivery team
• CDL is not required

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 pounds as needed
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, load, and unload windows and doors
• Ability to bend, stoop, and squat as needed
• Ability to perform physical work throughout the shift
• Comfortable getting in and out of delivery vehicles and working at various job sites

Additional Information:

• Deliveries may include locations such as Dubuque, Mason City, Cedar Rapids, Fort Dodge, Storm Lake, and La Crosse
• Out-of-town deliveries may result in longer workdays
• Typical hours are approximately 6:15 AM-5:00 PM, although employees may finish earlier depending on the delivery schedule and if they work through lunch
• Deliveries are made using a 27-foot box truck
• This position rides along with the primary delivery driver
• CDL is not required
