Forklift Operator/Warehouse Worker

Location: Waterloo, IA
Pay: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Type: Seasonal/Busy Season Opportunity

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals in Waterloo is seeking a Forklift Operator/Warehouse Worker to assist a local warehouse through their busy season. This position will help with shipping and receiving, order preparation, general warehouse duties, and forklift operation. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of previous forklift experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload trucks
• Prepare and organize orders for shipment
• Operate a forklift as needed throughout the shift
• Use pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment
• Assist with general warehouse duties
• Sweep and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Perform light lifting as needed
• Ensure orders are prepared accurately and ready for shipment
• Follow all warehouse and equipment safety procedures

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of previous forklift experience required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read and write well
• Previous warehouse experience preferred
• Comfortable working around shipping and receiving operations
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with pallet jacks is beneficial
• Stand-up reach truck experience is not required, as training will be provided

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and move throughout the workday
• Ability to perform light lifting throughout the shift
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment
• Ability to load, unload, and prepare materials for shipment

Additional Information:

• This position will assist the warehouse through its busy season
• Candidates must have previous forklift experience
• Training will be provided on the stand-up reach truck
