We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of our transportation and trucking company. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, supporting month-end closing, and assisting with freight, fleet, and operational accounting activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and freight billing processes.
• Review and reconcile fuel, maintenance, and fleet-related expenses.
• Assist with driver settlements and transportation-related financial reporting.
• Prepare account analyses and assist with budgeting and audits.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support process improvements and other accounting projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, or a related industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting and transportation management software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
