General Labor / Warehouse Associate
Plainfield, IL | Full-Time | Monday-Friday | $18.00/Hour + Growth Opportunities
A growing local Plainfield business is looking for a dependable, hardworking General Labor / Warehouse Associate to join our team. This position is primarily warehouse-based but also offers the opportunity to travel throughout the country supporting trade shows and industry events.
We are looking for individuals who are reliable, trainable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Full-time position
Responsibilities
Warehouse Duties (Approximately 90% of the Role)
- Pick, pack, and prepare shipments
- Organize and maintain warehouse inventory
- Load and unload products and materials
- Assist with general warehouse operations and housekeeping
- Follow safety procedures and maintain an efficient workspace
- Work independently while staying focused on assigned tasks
Trade Show Support
- Assist with loading a 53-foot trailer before events
- Travel with the team to trade show locations across the U.S.
- Help with event setup, booth assembly, product displays, and breakdown
- Support event operations as needed during shows
- Represent the company professionally while traveling
Travel Requirements
- Approximately 9 trade shows per year
- Travel may involve one or two weekends depending on the event
- Typical trade show destinations include:
- Indianapolis, IN
- Orlando, FL
- Franklin, NC
- Denver, CO
- Tucson, AZ
- Travel time is paid from warehouse departure until hotel arrival
- Company provides a $60 daily meal allowance while traveling
- Trade show schedules vary based on event needs and may occasionally require extended hours
- Typical trade show hours are approximately 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, though event demands may occasionally require longer days
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
- Ability to stay focused and limit personal phone usage during work hours
- Willingness to travel and support trade show events
- Ability to learn new processes and work independently
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Previous warehouse experience is helpful but not required
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay: $18.00 per hour
- Performance review after 90 days
