Drafter (Temporary/Contract Position)

Position Summary

The Drafter is responsible for creating, converting, and maintaining electrical and mechanical 2D and 3D drawings within engineering design and document management systems. This role supports engineering teams by developing and updating technical drawings, models, and documentation used for engineered products and assemblies. The position works closely with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, maintain design standards, and ensure accurate documentation throughout the product development process.

Pay Rate

$28.00 - $37.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and technical expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
• Develop and maintain 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
• Manage and maintain engineering documentation within TeamCenter.
• Create and update standard operating procedures and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to support design initiatives.
• Ensure drawings and models meet established quality and design standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Mechanical Engineering background preferred.
• Experience or exposure to electrical and software-related projects is a plus.
• Previous 3D modeling experience required.
• Autodesk Inventor certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of engineering principles, design processes, and technical documentation.
• Experience with TeamCenter, SAP, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into accurate drawings and models.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to coordinate work involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Capable of completing assigned tasks independently after receiving initial guidance.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop technical expertise.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to sit, speak, and listen.

• Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods.
