Funeral Assistant

Salary: $18-$23 per hour

Express Employment Professionals is hiring for 2 Funeral Assistants for one of the oldest and most respected funeral homes in Delaware. Our client is a family-owned business with four funeral home locations (New Castle, Newark, Delaware City and Middletown). The position is full-time and NO experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Funeral Directors to ensure each funeral meets the requests and requirements of the deceased.
• Ensure familiarity with each individual funeral arrangement, completing pre- and post-funeral checks.
• Assist with preparation and presentation of the body in a professional, caring and dignified manner.
• Prepare funeral cars including daily cleaning.
• Ensure all vehicles are checked both pre- and post-use, ensuring they are fit for purpose and in excellent condition.

Requirements

• Extremely high hospitality acumen and presentable appearance (daily business attire required)
• Experience working in a busy service environment
• Ability to prove competence in the relevant areas of work
• Current full driving license
• Ability to undertake out-of-hours and weekend work
• Ability to cope with the emotional demands of the job
• Flexibility when called upon to work additional hours at short notice

This is a Direct Hire position with benefits including:

Regular hours are 8 am - 4:30 pm. Hourly employees who work over 40 hours a week will be paid time and a half.

Christmas bonus for ALL employees

$125 to $175 for removals.
