Maintenance / Mechatronics Manager (1st Shift)

 

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance / Mechatronics Manager to join their team.

 

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, this hands-on leadership position will oversee and participate in maintenance operations while leading and developing the maintenance team. This role is responsible for maintaining the reliability, safety, and performance of our client’s manufacturing equipment and facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls systems.

 

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical maintenance expertise with proven leadership experience and a proactive approach to equipment reliability, continuous improvement, uptime, and workplace safety.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Maintenance in managing daily maintenance operations, including priorities, work assignments, team coverage, and response to equipment and facility issues.
• Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team through clear direction, performance feedback, training, and accountability for safe and effective work practices.
• Oversee and participate in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment and systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls.
• Plan, coordinate, complete, and document preventive maintenance activities while continuously improving programs to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Partner with production, engineering, and leadership to prioritize maintenance activities, resolve recurring equipment issues, and support operational needs.
• Ensure buildings, grounds, equipment, and facility systems are maintained for optimal appearance, functionality, safety, and operational readiness.
• Provide technical guidance in diagnosing and repairing ductwork, plumbing, minor facility electrical systems, and other maintenance-related issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical drawings, and equipment documentation to support troubleshooting and project execution.
• Apply PLC and controls knowledge to troubleshoot equipment, improve machine performance, and recommend or implement logic modifications when appropriate.
• Support quality objectives by ensuring equipment adjustments, inspections, and measurements are completed accurately using appropriate tools and methods.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and safety standards while reinforcing safe work practices and promptly addressing potential hazards.
• Ensure maintenance activities, repairs, asset records, and related documentation meet internal controls and asset-management expectations.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, equipment reliability, and maintenance efficiency, and help drive those improvements through implementation.
• Work independently and collaboratively while demonstrating urgency, professionalism, accountability, and ownership of department results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or related post-secondary training preferred.
• Minimum of two years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required; additional multi-craft maintenance or mechatronics experience preferred.
• CMM certification preferred, or the ability to obtain certification.
• Experience with ERP and/or CMMS systems required; Epicor experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory, lead, or management experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team, prioritize competing work, communicate effectively, and maintain accountability in a production environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and facility systems.
• Self-motivated, safety-focused, and willing to work overtime or adjust schedules as needed to support business requirements.

Compensation

Starting Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000

Schedule

This position will generally work a day shift. Depending on business needs, the individual may be required to work other days or shifts and adjust their schedule as necessary to support manufacturing and maintenance operations.
