Part-Time Payroll Specialist – Temporary Project

October – December 2026
Part-Time | $25–$30/hour

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to support a temporary payroll project from October through December 2026.

The ideal candidate will be confident setting up and processing payroll and able to teach and train others on how to run payroll correctly going forward. Experience with QuickBooks and/or Gusto is preferred.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and/or review payroll systems and processes
• Process payroll accurately and on schedule
• Help establish consistent payroll procedures
• Review payroll for accuracy and troubleshoot issues
• Assist with payroll-related reporting and recordkeeping
• Train and teach staff how to properly run and process payroll
• Create simple procedures and instructions for ongoing payroll processing
• Help ensure the payroll process is organized and easy for others to maintain

What We’re Looking For

• Previous hands-on payroll experience
• Strong understanding of payroll processing and payroll systems
• Experience setting up payroll is highly preferred
• Ability to confidently train and explain payroll processes to others
• Experience with QuickBooks and/or Gusto
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working independently
• Good communication and organizational skills

Additional Opportunity

If you also have experience with bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, or other accounting functions, there may be an opportunity for additional part-time project work beyond the initial payroll assignment.

Pay: $25–$30/hour depending on experience
