Shop Assistant

Pay: $22–$23 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are looking for a hardworking, dependable individual to join our radiator shop as a Radiator Shop Assistant / Technician Trainee. This is a hands-on position where you’ll work alongside experienced shop employees, assist with radiator cleaning and disassembly, learn specialized equipment, and gain valuable experience in the radiator and diesel emissions industry.

The right candidate is someone who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty, enjoys working with their hands, and is eager to learn new skills. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and potentially grow into a Radiator Repair Technician role.

Responsibilities

• Assist shop employees with disassembling, cleaning, and preparing radiators for service
• Learn and assist with washing and cleaning DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) exhaust filters
• Learn to safely operate radiator and DPF cleaning equipment
• Assist with general shop maintenance and organization
• Use a computer to complete shop-related tasks and enter information
• Help customers load and unload radiators, exhaust components, and other items
• Regularly lift, move, and handle heavy items
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Work alongside experienced technicians and learn radiator repair processes
• Take on additional responsibilities as skills and experience develop

Qualifications

• Previous shop, mechanical, manufacturing, warehouse, or hands-on experience is helpful but not required
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Comfortable performing physical, hands-on work
• Able to regularly lift and move heavy items
• Comfortable working in a hot shop environment
• Willing to get dirty and work around grease, grime, and industrial equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to follow instructions and learn new processes
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
