Purchasing Analyst / Buyer – Industrial Manufacturing

We are hiring an experienced Purchasing Analyst / Buyer with a strong background in manufacturing purchasing, preferably industrial manufacturing.

We are specifically looking for someone who has personally managed the purchasing process for raw materials, MRO parts, production supplies, industrial components or equipment. This is not an entry-level purchasing role and is not designed for candidates whose experience is primarily healthcare, finance, retail or office-only procurement.

What You’ll Do

• Review purchase requests for correct part numbers, specifications, quantities and delivery requirements
• Create and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders
• Check inventory and material availability before purchasing
• Source suppliers and compare quotes for price, quality, availability and lead time
• Negotiate pricing, delivery dates and purchasing terms
• Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on late or critical material
• Expedite materials when delays could impact production
• Work closely with production, warehouse, receiving, shipping and accounting
• Resolve supplier shortages, quality issues and delivery discrepancies
• Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and receiving records
• Maintain supplier information, purchasing records and order history
• Prepare purchasing and supplier performance reports

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on purchasing experience
• Strong background in manufacturing or industrial procurement
• Experience purchasing raw materials, MRO, production materials, parts or industrial equipment
• Purchase order and purchase requisition experience
• Supplier sourcing and vendor management
• Open PO management and expediting
• Inventory and material planning experience
• ERP/MRP system experience
• Strong Excel and purchasing analysis skills
• Experience working directly with production and warehouse teams

Preferred backgrounds include: industrial manufacturing, metal fabrication, machinery, automotive, aerospace, plastics, packaging, building products or similar production environments.

Pay: $60,000–$90,000 DOE
