Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced QC Inspector to perform quality inspections of electronic products and assemblies throughout the manufacturing process.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying defects and discrepancies, verifying products against applicable IPC and company standards, supporting First Article inspections, and ensuring finished products meet established quality requirements. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical knowledge of electronic assemblies, and hands-on experience using inspection and test equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections of electronic assemblies and products to ensure compliance with established specifications and workmanship standards.
• Inspect printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies in accordance with applicable IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610
• Verify component placement, assembly quality, workmanship, and product conformity against drawings, specifications, and other applicable documentation.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and verify that products meet specified requirements before production proceeds.
• Identify, document, and communicate defects, non-conformances, and quality issues.
• Investigate discrepancies and work with production and other departments to support corrective actions.
• Verify inventory quantities, part numbers, and product information and report discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure established ISO procedures, quality processes, and inspection requirements are consistently followed.
• Operate and maintain inspection and test equipment, including:
  • Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment
  • X-ray inspection equipment
  • Multimeters
  • Other electronic test, measurement, and verification equipment
• Maintain inspection records and other required quality documentation accurately.
• Support quality investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure inspection tools and equipment are properly maintained and available for use.
• Communicate quality concerns clearly to production, engineering, and management teams.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in electronics inspection, quality control, SMT quality, or a related electronics manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards.
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610
• Experience performing First Article Inspections.
• Experience using inspection and test equipment such as AOI, X-ray inspection systems, multimeters, and other electronic verification tools.
• Strong ability to identify defects, discrepancies, and non-conformances.
• Familiarity with ISO procedures and quality control systems is considered an asset.
• Previous experience working with MIL, aerospace, automotive, or other industry-specific quality standards is considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise, methodical inspections.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment while maintaining a high standard of quality.
