Express Employment is seeking Slitter Operators for a great company in Shelbyville. 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Operate Slitting Machines: Set up and run slitter machines to cut materials such as paper, film, foil, metal sheets, or nonwovens according to job specifications and customer requirements 
• Adjust Machine Settings: Modify speed, tension, blade positioning, and other parameters to accommodate different materials and ensure precise cuts 
• Material Handling: Load raw material rolls onto machines, thread materials through the slitter, and remove finished rolls for further processing or shipping 
• Quality Control: Inspect materials before and after slitting for defects or deviations from specifications, ensuring consistent product quality 
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, clean machines, and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance 
• Record Keeping: Document production data, including quantities processed, materials used, and any deviations from standard procedures for inventory and quality assurance purposes 
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment 

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required 
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of slitter machine operations, metalworking, or material handling; ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Attention to Detail: Precision in cutting and inspecting materials to meet quality standards 
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and make adjustments during production 
• Communication and Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with quality control and production teams to meet production goals
