General Responsibilities of an HVAC Technical Support Specialist:

• Provide technical support to HVAC service technicians and contractors via phone and email.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment, installation questions, startup support, and service-related inquiries.
• Research HVAC equipment and identify replacement parts using model numbers, serial numbers, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and equipment drawings.
• Prepare parts quotations, process orders, and communicate pricing and availability.
• Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve customer requests.
• Maintain accurate documentation of technical support cases, parts orders, and customer communications.
• Independently manage multiple requests and follow through to completion.
• Serve as a critical resource for field technicians requiring technical assistance.

 

Ideal Background for an HVAC Technical Support Specialist:

• Previous HVAC service, HVAC installation, mechanical, controls, or related technical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Comfortable speaking directly with HVAC service technicians and contractors.
• Experience identifying HVAC replacement parts and researching equipment specifications preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and customer-focused approach.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
