Operations & Regulatory Coordinator

Location: Salem, OR
Pay: $20–$27 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual with some bookkeeping or accounting experience who is interested in learning the trucking industry and growing into a long-term career opportunity.

The primary focus of this position will be learning the regulatory, compliance, and operational side of the business, including licensing, insurance, safety, hazmat, logistics, and dispatch.

The long-term goal is to train the right person in accounting and have them eventually take over the accounting responsibilities within 3–5 years.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Compliance

• Maintain licenses, permits, registrations, and required documentation

• Assist with trucking, hazmat, safety, and insurance requirements

• Track renewals, filings, deadlines, and compliance records

• Learn and stay current on applicable trucking regulations

• Assist with special projects related to compliance and operations

Operations & Logistics

• Assist with dispatch and scheduling

• Learn about trucks, drivers, equipment, and transportation logistics

• Help coordinate loads and daily operational needs

• Maintain organized records and documentation

Accounting

• Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

• Apply existing bookkeeping or accounting experience to the role

• Learn the company's accounting processes and gradually take on additional responsibilities

What We're Looking For

• Some bookkeeping, accounting, AR/AP, or related experience

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Comfortable managing paperwork, deadlines, and multiple priorities

• Interested in learning regulations and compliance requirements

• Strong follow-through and willingness to learn

• Interested in building a long-term career in the trucking industry
