Polishes and smooths metal surfaces to finish molds, using hand tools.• Ability to operate a forklift, positioning molds securely in holding fixtures.• Removes burrs and smooths contoured surfaces with powered handheld grinder.• Verifies contour of impression with templates.• Applies blue pigment to mold surfaces, and presses mold halves together manually to locate high spots.• Fits and installs nameplate in mold, using hand tools.• Verifies height of each insert with dial indicator.• May make own hand tools.• Responsible to maintain company equipment and tools.• Must be able to work well under a supervisor.• Ensure job site cleanliness and organization through all phases of the service process.• Self-starter, Independent worker.
Prior finishing experience required
• Must be able to do shift work. • Must be willing to work in a manufacturing environment and wear safety goggles. • Must be willing to work in areas with high levels of noise such as plants or engineering departments.
