Service Technician Summary:

An established leader in the windows and doors industry is looking for a mechanically inclined Service Technician to join their team. This position will travel to customer homes and jobsites to diagnose, repair, and adjust windows and doors. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with window and door installation or repair, is comfortable working independently, and communicates professionally with customers.

Service Technician Responsibilities:

• Travel to customer homes and jobsites to diagnose and repair window and door issues

• Complete repairs and adjustments on windows, sliding doors, French doors, and other products

• Replace or adjust glass, hardware, screens, blinds, shades, and other components as needed

• Troubleshoot service issues and determine the appropriate repair

• Explain repairs and service work clearly to homeowners and customers

• Complete approximately 5-8 service calls per day

• Use hand and power tools to complete repairs and adjustments

• Document completed service work and product information using an iPad

• Maintain communication regarding schedule changes, delays, or additional work needed

• Keep work areas clean and organized while working in customer homes

• Load necessary parts and tools for scheduled service calls

• Maintain an organized company service vehicle

• Work independently on most service calls and alongside other technicians on larger projects

Schedule & Pay:

• Monday - Friday, 7am start. End time typically between 3pm-5pm depending on service calls. Average 45-50 hours per week

• $25/HR - $32/HR DOE

Service Technician Qualifications:

• Previous window and door installation, repair, residential construction, maintenance, or similar hands-on experience

• Working knowledge of windows and doors, including installation, adjustments, hardware, and minor repairs

• Comfortable using hand and power tools

• Ability to read a tape measure and work with measurements

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple service calls throughout the day

• Professional and respectful when working in customer homes

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Comfortable using an iPad or similar technology to document service work

• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements

• Comfortable working from ladders and at heights, including second- and third-story work

• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.

• Dependable, coachable, detail-oriented, and able to work with a sense of urgency
