Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for our Falconer, NY client.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Product Inspection Assistant to support their Quality Department and Product Inspection team. This position provides hands-on assistance with digital documentation, product handling, and packaging activities required to prepare finished products for customer shipment.

The primary purpose of this role is to support Product Inspectors by completing defined inspection support activities, allowing Quality personnel to focus on technical inspections, product acceptance, and release functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Product Inspectors with final inspection and product release activities.
  • Capture required digital objective evidence photographs of completed products.
  • Ensure photographs are clear, accurate, and include required product characteristics, identification markings, packaging, and other specified documentation.
  • Organize, label, and maintain digital photographic records according to customer and company requirements.
  • Verify that all required documentation and photographic evidence have been completed before products move to the next stage.
  • Package finished products according to customer specifications and established company standards.
  • Verify correct packaging materials, quantities, identification, protection methods, and labeling are used.
  • Handle completed products carefully to prevent damage, contamination, or foreign object debris (FOD).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional inspection and packaging work area.
  • Communicate any missing documentation, product concerns, packaging discrepancies, or unclear requirements to Quality personnel.
  • Follow direction provided by Product Inspectors, Quality Leads, and Quality Management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support quality and production objectives.

Role Boundaries

This position is a support role within the Quality Department and does not have authority to independently inspect, approve, or release products.

The Product Inspection Assistant:

  • May support inspection, documentation, product handling, and packaging activities.
  • May identify potential concerns and stop the process for Quality review when necessary.
  • May prepare and organize digital objective evidence but may not alter records or photographs in a way that misrepresents product condition.
  • May package products according to defined requirements but may not substitute packaging methods when specifications exist.
  • May not accept or reject products based on dimensional, visual, or technical requirements.
  • May not sign, stamp, approve, or authorize inspection records unless specifically trained and authorized.
  • May not make disposition decisions regarding nonconforming products.
  • Must escalate unclear drawings, specifications, inspection requirements, packaging instructions, or customer requirements to Quality personnel for clarification.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Comfortable using computers, digital cameras, tablets, or mobile devices.
  • Basic computer and file management skills.
  • Ability to carefully handle finished manufactured products.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions and verbal directions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage repetitive tasks accurately.
  • Ability to recognize discrepancies and seek guidance when needed.
  • Willingness to learn manufacturing, inspection, packaging, and quality processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, inspection, packaging, or quality experience is preferred but not required.

Position Guidelines

The individual in this role is responsible for preparing digital objective evidence, protecting and packaging finished products, and supporting the Product Inspection team. Final product acceptance, technical inspection decisions, and product release remain the responsibility of trained and authorized Quality personnel.

 

Hours are M-F 7 am to 4 pm and pay is $22-$24/hr based on experience.
