OVERVIEW

Express is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to perform physically demanding manual labor and public works maintenance duties. Responsibilities include collecting debris and materials that cannot be removed by equipment, assisting with roadway and drainage maintenance, repairing streets and sidewalks, maintaining rights-of-way, and supporting construction projects. This role requires operating hand and power tools, performing heavy lifting, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and assisting with equipment operation to maintain safe and clean public areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Construct and repair concrete surfaces, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and street infrastructure.
Perform roadway maintenance, including pothole repairs, asphalt work, and drainage system upkeep.
Operate equipment such as dump trucks, asphalt rollers, tractor mowers, and other maintenance vehicles.
Use hand and power tools including chainsaws, concrete saws, jackhammers, edgers, and weed eaters.
Maintain rights-of-way through mowing, tree trimming, brush removal, and landscaping activities.
Set up traffic control devices to ensure safe work zones and emergency response areas.
Conduct equipment inspections, perform basic preventive maintenance, and follow safety procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience in construction, maintenance, landscaping, or public works preferred.
Ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools safely.
Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying outdoor conditions.
Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow verbal instructions.
Valid driver's license required; CDL ability preferred.
