Maintenance Technician

Location: Corrigan, TX
Pay: $17 per hour

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced and dependable Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs throughout residential properties and facilities.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on maintenance professional with experience in HVAC, plumbing, light electrical, painting who can troubleshoot problems, complete repairs efficiently, and help ensure housing units and common areas remain safe and well maintained.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residential units, buildings, and property grounds.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic HVAC repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and complete plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, pipes, and other plumbing fixtures.
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including outlets, switches, fixtures, and lighting.
• Complete general building repairs, including doors, locks, drywall, painting, and minor carpentry.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents by completing necessary repairs and maintenance.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a professional and timely manner.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and identify potential repair or safety concerns.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow established workplace and property safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with residents, Housing Authority staff, vendors, and supervisors.
• Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance technician, apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, or similar experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems required.
• Strong troubleshooting and general repair skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance requests.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to perform the physical duties associated with building and property maintenance.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required based on assignment responsibilities.
