Monday through Friday – 6:30am to 3:30pm

An ISO 9001 and AS 9100D quality registered, and a certified Women Owned Small Business specializing in precision aircraft parts like large structural components and complex assemblies for the Department of Defense, Lockheed Martin, Northrup Gruman, and more, is seeking a Quality Inspector to join their team in Chatsworth.

Summary: Inspects materials and products such as sheet stock, machine shop parts, and metal castings, for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

• Compares product to be shipped against sales orders to verify correctness of parts, quantities and associated quality documentation.
• Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly.
• Compares received articles with purchase orders.
• Complete pertinent Q.A. forms and logs.
• Examines material or product for defects and sorts product according to extent of defect.
• Initiates nonconformance reports.
• Inspection of casting and forgings with “lay out” system.
• Interface the personnel of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
• Reads and understands technical drawings.
• Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag.
• Release products for packing, packaging and shipment.
• Responsible for appropriate marking of purchased product.
• Tests mechanisms for clearance and freedom of movement.
• Understands dimensioning, tolerances, runout, etc.
• Usage and understanding of various measuring instruments.
• Uses sampling plan (when necessary).
• Verifies specified dimensions of product or material.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of Quality Control and Inspection Experience.
• Experience working on CNC Mills and Lathes.
• Experience with Aerospace Specs and Drawings.
• Experience with QMS systems and AS9100 Reporting requirements.
