Express Employment Professionals of Bradenton, FL is currently hiring for a Bankruptcy Paralegal position for a Law Firm based in Bradenton, FL
Duties:
- Manage assigned bankruptcy cases from initial client intake through case completion under attorney supervision.
- Conduct detailed client intake interviews and gather information necessary for bankruptcy filings.
- Collect, organize, and review financial documentation
- Prepare and assist with drafting bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, and related documents.
- Review bankruptcy documents for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
- Identify missing information, discrepancies, or potential issues and bring them to the attorney's attention.
- Prepare creditor mailing lists and assist with creditor-related documentation.
- Prepare documents for electronic filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court under attorney direction.
- Monitor court filings, case status, deadlines, hearings, and other important dates.
- Prepare clients for Meetings of Creditors (341 meetings) and other bankruptcy proceedings.
- Coordinate with Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 trustees as appropriate.
- Assist with Chapter 13 plan documentation and related case administration.
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files.
- Communicate with clients regarding case status, documentation requirements, deadlines, and next steps.
Requirements:
- Paralegal certificate, associate degree, or equivalent legal education preferred.
- Knowledge of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy procedures.
- Bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and statement experience required.
- Experience with Meetings of Creditors/341 hearings.
- Bankruptcy exemptions and asset documentation.
- Creditor claims and creditor communications.
- Experience with Chapter 13 repayment plans.
- Strong knowledge of bankruptcy terminology and procedures.
- 2+ years of bankruptcy paralegal experience required.
- Experience preparing bankruptcy petitions and schedules.
- Experience with electronic filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
- Experience communicating with bankruptcy trustees.
