Job Description
Express Employment Professionals in Lynchburg is seeking a CNC Machinist for a well-established client in the Lynchburg area. This position supports precision manufacturing through Swiss CNC machine setup, programming, and hands-on technical support. The right candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, attention to quality, and a professional, respectful approach to working with others.
Skills and Experience Requirements
· At least 5 years of CNC setup and/or programming experience.
· Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints.
· Experience using calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges to verify part dimensions.
· Working knowledge of G-code and M-code programming.
· Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
· Commitment to professional conduct and respectful workplace communication, including avoiding profanity.
· Experience with FANUC controls preferred.
Job Responsibilities
· Set up Swiss CNC machines and complete changeovers for production runs.
· Create and edit CNC programs to meet machining requirements.
· Diagnose and resolve machine issues to support consistent production.
· Perform preventive maintenance to help keep equipment in reliable working condition.
· Provide hands-on guidance and assistance to CNC operators as needed.
· Monitor machine performance and part quality to maintain efficient, accurate production.
Pay and Schedule
· Starting pay: $31–$35 an hour, depending on skills and experience.
· Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
· Overtime as needed.
