Maintenance Assistant / Facilities Manager

Pay: $20.00 - $32.00 per hour DOE

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Assistant / Facilities Manager to help maintain the safety, functionality, and appearance of multiple buildings and grounds. This position may be filled at either the assistant or manager level depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and capable of performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and facility improvement projects. Individuals with supervisory experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage vendors and maintenance schedules are encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance Assistant Level
- Perform routine building maintenance and repairs.
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct inspections of facilities, equipment, and grounds.
- Assist with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair projects.
- Maintain landscaping, parking areas, sidewalks, and exterior appearance.
- Assist with snow removal and ice mitigation during winter months.
- Monitor supplies and report maintenance needs.
- Ensure safe and clean work environments.
Facilities Manager Level
- Oversee all facility maintenance operations and preventative maintenance programs.
- Prioritize and assign work orders and maintenance projects.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, and service providers.
- Manage facility inspections, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
- Maintain maintenance records, inventories, and compliance documentation.
- Develop maintenance schedules and budgets.
- Train and support maintenance staff.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in building maintenance, facilities management, construction, or a related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade certification, vocational training, or relevant licenses.
- Previous supervisory or facilities management experience.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets and contractors.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and safety compliance requirements.
