Express Employment Professionals is seeking a dependable Welder for an industry leader in manufacturing, metal fabrication and engineering solutions located in North Buffalo, NY. This is an excellent temp-to-hire opportunity! 

 

Job Overview: Build larger frames and weldments from customer drawings. We’re looking for an experienced fabricator
who can independently lay out, fit, tack, and weld assemblies with accuracy, care, and pride in the finished work.

 

Shift: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm (two 15-min breaks, one 30-min lunch)

Payrate: $27-30/hr based on experience

 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Read prints and weld symbols; lay out, square, clamp, and assemble tubing, plate, and fabricated components.
• Set up welding equipment and follow work instructions. Control weld sequence, heat input, and distortion to maintain alignment.
• Inspect dimensions and welds, follow job travelers, maintain material identification, and report issues early.
• Move and position heavier items carefully using approved lifting equipment, rigging, or assistance.
• Coordinate with the foreman and engineering, adapt to production priorities, and keep a safe, organized work area

 

Qualifications:

• Experience and proficiency in MIG, TIG & flex-core welding.
• Proven large-frame fit-up and welding skills, strong MIG welding, and the ability to work from prints with minimal supervision.
• Respectful communication, positive attitude, dependable attendance, willingness to help, and openness to constructive feedback.
• Confident use of measuring tools, saws, grinders, clamps, and fixtures, with sound judgment around heavier assemblies.
• Willingness to take on varied work within your training and capabilities and raise safety concerns promptly.

 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
• Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull materials and finished products.
• Ability to lift up to approximately 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to use hand tools and perform repetitive movements.
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, climb steps, and work in various shop positions.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, metal materials, dust, and moving equipment.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, work gloves, and protective footwear.

 

Work Environment:

Hands-on shop work involving standing, bending, reaching, and positioning assemblies. Essential duties must be performed safely, with reasonable accommodation where appropriate and mechanical assistance for larger or heavier loads.
