Route Service Technician

Location: Altoona, WI
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-4:30pm
Pay: $18.00-$24.00/hour DOE

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Route Service Technician to join a growing team serving residential and commercial customers throughout the region. This role combines customer service, preventative maintenance, product delivery, and basic equipment support for water treatment systems.

The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, building customer relationships, and solving problems in the field. While product delivery is part of the position, the primary focus is maintaining customer accounts, servicing water treatment equipment, replenishing treatment products, and ensuring customers receive exceptional ongoing service.

Comprehensive training is provided, including water treatment principles, equipment operation, service procedures, and customer care. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to build a long-term career in a growing industry. 

Responsibilities

• Service residential and commercial water treatment accounts along an established route.
• Deliver and replenish water treatment products, including salt, minerals, and related supplies.
• Inspect equipment and identify service needs.
• Perform basic maintenance and preventative service on water treatment systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting filters, softeners, and related equipment.
• Build strong customer relationships through professional and reliable service.
• Educate customers on products, equipment operation, and service recommendations.
• Maintain accurate service records and route documentation.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned service routes.
• Support installation, maintenance, and repair efforts as training and experience develop.
• Follow company safety standards and operating procedures. 

Qualifications

Required

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation and repair.
• Ability to work independently and manage a route efficiently.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work.

Preferred

• Route service, field service, delivery, maintenance, or customer-facing experience.
• Experience using hand tools or performing mechanical repairs.
• Background in HVAC, appliance repair, plumbing, facilities maintenance, agriculture, or related fields.
• Experience providing service directly to customers.
