We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems within commercial properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Duties

• Perform routine maintenance and comprehensive repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems, including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and interpret schematics to identify faults accurately.
• Install new HVAC systems and equipment in accordance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems related to HVAC/R systems and implement effective solutions promptly.
• Conduct refrigerant recovery, recharging, and handling of ammonia refrigeration systems while adhering to EPA regulations.
• Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to repair or replace faulty components ensuring system integrity.
• Collaborate with clients to assess their needs, provide technical guidance, and deliver excellent customer service.
• Maintain detailed service reports, update system documentation including schematics and building automation systems.
• Support property maintenance efforts by ensuring HVAC systems operate efficiently and reliably.
• Assist in training junior technicians and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the service team.

Skills

• Proven experience as a service technician with a strong background in HVAC/R systems repair and maintenance.
• Construction experience is advantageous for understanding building integration requirements.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents.
• Mechanical knowledge encompassing plumbing, mechanical systems repair, and building automation systems.
• Skilled in electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting electrical systems within HVAC units.
• Familiarity with refrigeration cycles, ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, and appliance repair.
• Ability to operate hand tools effectively and perform equipment troubleshooting with precision.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; experience with electrical systems is preferred.
• Experience driving a van or field service vehicle safely within various environments.
• Knowledge of HVAC system installation procedures and ongoing maintenance practices.
• Mechanical or mechanic experience that supports comprehensive system repairs.
