Entry-Level Machinist – 1–2 Years Experience

 

Working as a Machinist, you will set up and operate multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment, including saws, threading machines, hot and cold heading machines, and various other manual and production machines. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of machining or related manufacturing experience and a basic understanding of machine operation, measurements, and production processes. Additional training will be provided to familiarize the employee with company-specific equipment and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Set up and operate multiple pieces of machining and production equipment.

Operate saws, threading machines, heading machines, and various manual equipment.

Run multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously while maintaining production and quality standards.

Perform accurate inspections and measurements of finished products.

Identify basic machine or product issues and make appropriate adjustments when trained to do so.

Read and follow work instructions, production specifications, and safety procedures.

Assist other employees and departments as needed.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and sustainability requirements.

Participate in required safety and environmental training programs.

Demonstrate consistent attention to quality, productivity, and workplace safety.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The skills and qualifications required for this position include:

18 years of age or older due to the nature of the work.

1–2 years of machining, manufacturing, machine operation, or related mechanical experience.

Basic knowledge of machining processes, machine operation, and production procedures.

Ability to use basic measuring and inspection equipment.

Strong math aptitude and attention to detail.

Strong problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Ability to learn and operate multiple machines in a fast-paced production environment.

Strong organization, planning, and prioritization abilities.

Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.

Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork.

Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 lbs., with some packages weighing up to 100 lbs.

Ability to pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY).

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of machining or related manufacturing experience.

Experience with manual or semi-automatic production equipment.

Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or other inspection equipment.

Familiarity with machine setup, tooling, feeds, speeds, and basic troubleshooting.

Previous experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
