Express Employment Professionals is hiring dependable Inventory Scanners for a one-day inventory project with Datascan at a NAPA Auto Parts location in Suffolk, VA.

In this role, you will help complete a physical inventory count by scanning and counting merchandise accurately and efficiently. This is a straightforward opportunity for dependable individuals who are comfortable working on their feet, following instructions, and staying focused during repetitive counting and scanning tasks.

 

What You'll Do

• Report on time and check in with the Datascan onsite supervisor.
• Use inventory scanning equipment and follow established counting procedures.
• Scan and count store merchandise accurately.
• Work through assigned inventory sections in an organized and efficient manner.
• Follow supervisor instructions and quality expectations throughout the project.
• Maintain attention to detail and accuracy during repetitive scanning and counting.
• Follow all applicable safety requirements and site guidelines.

 

What We're Looking For

• Ability to communicate and read fluently in English.
• Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to punctuality.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently once assigned a section.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfort with repetitive scanning and counting tasks.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently bend, stretch, and stoop.
• Reliable transportation to the Suffolk worksite.
• Previous inventory, warehouse, retail, stocking, material handling, order picking, or general labor experience is helpful, but no prior inventory-scanning experience is required.

 

Important Attendance Requirement

Punctuality is critical for this assignment. Associates must arrive on time and be ready to work by 7:00 AM. Late arrivals will be turned away and will not receive pay.

Qualified associates who report as required are eligible for a minimum four-hour show-up guarantee.

 

Work Environment & Dress Code

This position takes place inside a retail auto-parts store during a physical inventory count.

Associates should be prepared to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, stretch, and stoop throughout the assignment.
• Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

 

Dress Code:

• Dark shirt with no logos or writing
• Jeans or khaki pants with no rips, tears, or holes
• Closed-toe shoes

 

No AirPods, earpieces, or headphones are permitted while working.
