Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and review of real estate transaction documents, including purchase agreements, title reports, and closing statements.
Conduct comprehensive legal research on various topics such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, and tribal regulations to support ongoing cases and transactions.
Manage and organize case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all documentation is current and accessible.
Coordinate with clients, lenders, title companies, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth transaction processes.
Perform title searches, review title commitments, and identify potential issues related to liens or encumbrances.
Draft legal correspondence, affidavits, and procedural documents with precision and clarity.
Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, and closings by reviewing case materials and summarizing key information.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while handling multiple cases across diverse areas including landlord-tenant law, securities law, personal injury law, and litigation support.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and preparing reports using Microsoft Office Suite.
Conduct legal research utilizing Westlaw and LexisNexis to gather relevant case law and statutory information for ongoing projects.
Skills
Proven experience as a paralegal within real estate or related legal fields with a strong understanding of procedural law.
Extensive knowledge of estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, tribal regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, family law, securities law, personal injury law, civil litigation support, and general & commercial litigation.
Proficiency with legal case management software including iManage and PCLaw; familiarity with document review platforms is advantageous.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw and LexisNexis for comprehensive legal analysis.
Exceptional written communication skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; ability to proofread meticulously.
Effective client communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette for liaising with various stakeholders.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while demonstrating discretion at all times.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel PowerPoint) along with familiarity with document management systems for filing and document review purposes.
Solid understanding of legal administrative processes including filing procedures and procedural law knowledge.
