Salary: $25-$45/hour DOE
$25–$45/hour DOE | Day Shift | 40 hours/week
We are looking for an experienced Saw Filer / Saw Maintenance Technician to safely maintain, repair, and sharpen bandsaws and other sawmill equipment. This role is critical to maintaining production, safety, and consistent lumber quality.
File, sharpen, bench, fit, tension, and maintain bandsaws
Perform saw and machine alignment
Maintain and repair filing room equipment, guides, grinders, tippers, and levelers
Weld and perform hard-tipped alloy, carbide, and stellite work
Sharpen, tip, and maintain round saws and knives
Perform preventive maintenance on sawmill and shop machinery
Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and unsafe conditions
Troubleshoot and report saw or equipment issues
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
2+ years of bandsaw filing or precision millwright experience
3+ years of sawmill experience preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of saw and tooth geometry
Experience with stellite and carbide teeth
Knowledge of bandmill alignment, tensioning, and leveling
Welding experience preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
Journey filing experience preferred.
