Sheet Metal Welder / Fabricator

Location: Horseheads, NY
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $20–$28 per hour, depending on experience

We are looking for a skilled Sheet Metal Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This position will focus on welding, fabricating, and repairing sheet metal components used to produce high-quality signs and other products.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
• Set up and operate MIG, TIG, and arc welding equipment
• Select appropriate welding materials and techniques for each project
• Weld and fabricate sheet metal components with precision
• Inspect finished welds for quality and accuracy
• Perform repairs on metal components, machinery, and structures as needed
• Operate fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters and press brakes
• Assist with machining and other fabrication processes as needed
• Perform industrial painting and finishing work
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow OSHA and company safety procedures
• Work with team members and supervisors to complete projects on schedule
• Maintain equipment and production records as required

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding
• Strong MIG welding experience; TIG and arc welding experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings
• Experience with plasma cutters, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Industrial painting experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity
• Ability to stand, lift, and work in various positions for extended periods
• Strong safety awareness
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) is a plus
