Quality Control / Quality Assurance Technician

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control / Quality Assurance Technician to support quality activities throughout the manufacturing and construction process. This position will be responsible for material inspection, documentation, traceability, subcontractor quality, and ensuring work meets contract specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Check wet and dry mil thickness
• Maintain material traceability throughout the project
• Review contract drawings and keep revisions up to date
• Prepare and submit QC documentation and reports
• Create welder, X-ray, and heat number maps
• Prepare turnover packages
• Monitor subcontractors for compliance with quality standards
• Supervise repairs and rework completed by subcontractors
• Inspect incoming materials against purchase orders and bills of material for proper size, quantity, type, and grade
• Review test reports and/or Certificates of Conformance (C of C) to verify material heat numbers
• Inspect materials for damage and properly document discrepancies
• Mark and segregate materials by contract and identify non-conforming material
• Verify parts are cut from the proper material and to the specified dimensions
• Ensure proper contract numbers and piece marks are applied to all parts
• Maintain accurate heat number and material traceability
• Review fit-ups against drawings or shop sketches before welding
• Assist with developing quality plans, quality manuals, and related QMS documentation
• Complete required QA/QC and quality training documentation
• Conduct required quality plan activities and maintain project quality systems
• Assist with QA/QC activities through substantial completion and project closeout
• Assist with final testing and commissioning as required
• Coordinate with QA/QC Managers, Project Managers, and other team members throughout engineering, procurement, and construction
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or manufacturing inspection
• Strong understanding of material traceability and quality documentation
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and shop sketches
• Knowledge of welding, materials, and fabrication processes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to identify and document non-conforming materials or work
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with QMS documentation and quality plans is preferred
