Hours: Monday through Friday. 8am-4:30pm. May require associates to report in earlier or stay later depending on work volumes.

Job Description: 

The Packaging Equipment Service Technician is responsible for providing repair and maintenance services for various types of machines and equipment for customers and the company. The position will perform electro-mechanical service, pneumatic and electronic/computer repair work. Travel will be required to customer facilities within mostly the southcentral PA region. Hours may require flexibility. Service Technician’s interact with customers, vendors and sales representatives, therefore expert communication and listening skills are a must for this position as is flexibility and a teamwork mindset.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Performs diagnostic, repair and maintenance on various types of electro-mechanical and pneumatic equipment and machines, as well as printing equipment.

 

• Replaces parts and components and keep detailed, organized records of all repair work done on each piece of equipment

 

• Complete necessary documents regarding work performed and account for time worked on each piece of equipment

 

• Ability to learn and understand equipment cycles and trouble shoot mechanical and/or electrical problems

 

• Ability to report to customer locations and work independently with minimal or no supervision

 

• Provide feedback to company supervisors and other team members, as well as sales representatives

 

• Represent the company in a professional and expert capacity

 

• Company facility maintenance and tasks as required

 

• Delivery of equipment and materials to customers or company locations

 

• Other duties and tasks as needed, including but not limited to work in converting, delivery and warehouse departments

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Warehouse, manufacturing, or service shop work environment. The position requires punctual and reliable attendance.  Normal work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday with occasional requirement for overtime to be paid in accordance with the employee handbook and state/federal law.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

To succeed in the performance of the duties and responsibilities and to maintain the required work environment, the packaging service equipment technician must be able to perform each essential task satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to achieve each essential task satisfactorily.

 

Required for the position -

·         High school diploma

·         Electrical knowledge of equipment and controls

·         Mechanical knowledge and background

·         Previous experience with pneumatics

·         Computer experience and aptitude

·         Valid PA driver’s license

 

Required language skills include reading and comprehending simple instructions, writing short correspondence and memos; presents information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, supervisor(s), and other employees.

 

Required reasoning ability includes the application of common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, written or oral instructions; Deals with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
