Pilot Car Driver – Job Description

Position Summary:
The Pilot Car Driver is responsible for driving a vehicle ahead of or behind oversized loads or work convoys to help alert motorists, assist with traffic flow, and support the safe movement of equipment and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive a pilot vehicle ahead of or behind oversized loads and work convoys.
• Warn approaching motorists of oversized or slow-moving loads.
• Help direct and manage traffic around work vehicles and equipment when needed.
• Maintain communication with drivers and crew members throughout the route.
• Watch for road hazards, low clearances, traffic conditions, and other potential safety concerns.
• Follow designated routes and all applicable traffic and safety regulations.
• Maintain a safe following distance and remain alert throughout the workday.
• Assist with additional transportation or crew-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
• Must be comfortable driving for extended periods of time.
• Strong attention to surroundings and ability to identify potential road hazards.
• Ability to follow directions and communicate clearly with drivers and crew members.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and safety conscious.
• Ability to work independently and remain focused in changing traffic conditions.

Schedule & Pay:

• Location: Daingerfield, TX
• Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Pay: $16.00 per hour
• Full-time position
