Warehouse Material Handler

 

• Location: Mundelein
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Overtime: Minimal, with occasional weekend work as needed
• Position Type: Evaluation-to-Hire
• Pay is $20-24/hour based on experience

 

Our client is seeking a dependable and hands-on Warehouse Material Handler to join their team. This role is responsible for shipping, receiving, inventory management, machine crating, returns processing, and general warehouse support. The ideal candidate enjoys a physically active work environment, has strong mechanical aptitude, and is comfortable operating heavy equipment and power tools.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts to move and transport delicate machinery
• Receive, inspect, package, and stock inventory and machine parts.
• Build custom machine crates, crate walls, and toppers using power tools such as drills and saws.
• Perform inventory put-away and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Process return shipments and RMA documentation.
• Enter goods receipts and inventory transactions into the ERP system.
• Pick, pack, and ship daily parts orders.
• Collaborate with the Inside Sales team to coordinate orders and shipments.
• Assist with general warehouse operations and material handling activities.

 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move 30-70 lbs. regularly, with forklift assistance when required.
• Comfortable performing physical labor throughout the workday.
• Approximately 70% warehouse/labor work and 30% administrative/computer-based tasks.

 

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, material handling, or inventory experience preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts and moving large or heavy equipment required.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP systems.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in working with machinery and mechanical parts.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
