Freezer Forklift Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Forklift Operator to work in a freezer/cold-storage warehouse environment. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in freezing temperatures for extended periods and have hands-on experience operating Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, and Electric Pallet Jacks.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, and Electric Pallet Jacks
• Work throughout the shift in a freezer/cold-storage environment
• Load, unload, move, stack, and stage frozen products and materials
• Pick and pull orders accurately according to pick tickets or warehouse systems
• Place and retrieve inventory from designated rack locations
• Operate reach trucks in high-rack freezer warehouse environments
• Use order pickers to safely retrieve products from elevated locations
• Transport pallets and materials throughout the warehouse using electric pallet jacks
• Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory functions
• Verify product quantities, locations, and item numbers
• Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment
• Report damaged products, equipment issues, and safety concerns immediately
• Maintain clean and organized aisles, docks, and work areas
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
• Assist with general warehouse duties as needed

Requirements

• Previous forklift experience required
• Must have experience operating:
• Reach Truck
• Order Picker
• Electric Pallet Jack
• Must be comfortable working in freezer temperatures for extended periods
• Ability to safely work at elevated heights while operating an order picker
• Experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, cold storage facility, or logistics environment
• Ability to accurately pick, stage, and move inventory
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and accuracy
• Must be dependable and have strong attendance
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move warehouse materials as required
• Must be willing to wear appropriate cold-weather/freezer PPE
• Must be willing to complete forklift safety training/evaluation as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous freezer or cold-storage warehouse experience
• Previous experience in a high-volume distribution center
• RF scanner or warehouse management system experience
• Shipping and receiving experience
• Inventory control experience
• Previous forklift certification is a plus

Work Environment: This position requires employees to work in a freezer environment with below-freezing temperatures. Appropriate cold-weather PPE must be worn while working in designated freezer areas.
