Job Title: 2nd Shift Machine Shop Supervisor
City and State: Elgin, IL
Pay Rate: $32.00-$36.00/hour
Schedule/Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire
 
Summary:
Lead the day-to-day operations of a machine shop while supporting production goals, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for supervising team members, coordinating production priorities, and providing hands-on machining and technical support to ensure on-time delivery.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise machine shop employees to ensure efficient operations, quality workmanship, and adherence to production schedules.
  • Set up and operate CNC milling and CNC lathe machines while providing technical support and guidance to team members.
  • Coordinate production priorities and communicate effectively with other shifts to meet delivery requirements.
  • Enforce workplace safety standards and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, problem-solving, and continuous improvement efforts within the machine shop.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8 years of CNC machining experience, including at least 4 years setting up CNC mills and CNC lathes.
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • CNC programming or editing experience preferred, with knowledge of Fanuc CNC controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints with strong attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in CNC Machining preferred.
