Schedule/Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire
 
Summary:
Lead and coordinate 2nd shift welding and fabrication operations in a manufacturing environment producing stainless-steel food processing and packaging equipment. This role is responsible for driving productivity, maintaining food-grade quality standards, ensuring workplace safety, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives while leading a team of skilled TIG welders.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee 2nd shift welding and fabrication operations to maximize productivity, quality, and equipment utilization.
  • Ensure all stainless-steel assemblies meet food-grade welding, grinding, cosmetic, and tolerance requirements while achieving production schedules.
  • Manage labor, materials, equipment, and departmental resources to support cost reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, and support welding team members through problem-solving, training, performance accountability, and policy administration.
  • Promote a safe work environment by maintaining housekeeping standards and continuously improving safety practices.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of welding and fabrication experience, including at least 4 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Expert-level TIG welding experience with 303 and 304 stainless steel and the ability to maintain high cosmetic finish standards.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • High school diploma or GED required; welding certification preferred. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
