Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:15 pm

Location: South Fort Worth, TX

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Fiber Optics Tester for a client company in Fort Worth. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented technician with experience in fiber-optic testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and test equipment. The selected candidate will test and inspect fiber-optic cable assemblies to ensure they meet engineering, customer, and aerospace quality requirements.

Fiber Optics Tester Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fiber-optic cable assemblies and components.
• Operate fiber-optic test equipment, including optical power meters, light sources, and OTDRs.
• Perform insertion-loss and return-loss testing.
• Troubleshoot test failures and identify potential assembly or equipment issues.
• Inspect fiber connectors, termini, end faces, and assemblies for defects.
• Record test results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
• Support Production, Engineering, and Quality with testing and troubleshooting.
• Follow approved test procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Fiber Optics Tester Qualifications

• 2+ Years of experience testing, inspecting, assembling, or troubleshooting fiber-optic cable assemblies

• Experience with fiber-optic test equipment

• Knowledge of basic fiber-optic principles and optical measurements

• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Skills

• Fiber-optic testing and inspection
• OTDR and optical power meters
• Insertion-loss and return-loss testing
• Fiber-optic connector and end-face inspection
• Aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing
