QC Lab Technician

Location: Hamilton, ON
Pay Rate: $30.00/hour
Term: 18-month contract
Schedule: Rotating weekly shifts — 7:00 AM–3:00 PM / 3:00 PM–11:00 PM / 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
Start Date: ASAP

Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a QC Lab Technician for our client in Hamilton. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented laboratory professional with experience in chemistry, quality control, and laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and quality control analysis
• Handle chemicals and perform titration chemistry
• Conduct testing using spectroscopy, GC, and other laboratory instrumentation
• Analyze samples and accurately report results
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation
• Follow laboratory procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards
• Communicate test results and quality concerns clearly to the appropriate team members
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Technical degree in Science or Chemistry required
• Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience in a related industry may be considered in place of the educational requirement
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with:
  • Chemical handling
  • Titration chemistry
  • Spectroscopy
  • Gas Chromatography (GC)
  • Basic mathematics
• General knowledge of laboratory instrumentation
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to accurately document, report, and communicate laboratory results
• Computer literacy with Windows-based programs
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
• Must be comfortable working rotating shifts, including overnight shifts

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and handle boxes of chemicals weighing up to 20 kg (44 lbs)
• Ability to handle, transport, and connect various gas cylinders required for laboratory equipment
• Ability to safely perform the physical duties associated with laboratory operations
