Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to support industrial and construction-related operations in the Pensacola area. This position operates a variety of heavy equipment to perform site preparation, excavation, grading, material handling, demolition support, and general labor duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, front-end loaders, skid steers, backhoes, forklifts, compactors, and other assigned machinery.

• Perform excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, loading, hauling, and material-moving activities.

• Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections; report maintenance needs, damage, or unsafe conditions promptly.

• Read and follow work orders, site plans, supervisor direction, safety procedures, and project specifications.

• Assist with setting up work areas, traffic control, equipment staging, housekeeping, and general labor tasks when equipment operation is not required.

• Work safely around active construction areas, utilities, structures, vehicles, and other personnel.

• Communicate effectively with spotters, supervisors, and crew members.

• Follow OSHA requirements and all site-specific safety rules.

• Maintain a clean and professional work area, equipment cab, and job-site appearance.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support project needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating heavy construction or industrial equipment required.

• Ability to operate multiple types of equipment safely and efficiently.

• Knowledge of daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance checks, and safe operating procedures.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying Florida weather conditions.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb on and off equipment, stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor as needed.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

• OSHA 10, NCCER, forklift certification, CDL, or relevant equipment certifications are preferred.

Schedule and Pay

• Full-time; schedule may vary based on project needs.

• Overtime or weekend work may be required.

• Pay is competitive and based on experience and equipment qualifications.
