Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Civil Coastal Engineer to join a growing team focused on protecting and restoring the Gulf South’s vital coastal ecosystems and communities.

 

In this role, you’ll lead the design and implementation of coastal infrastructure projects addressing critical challenges such as flood control, erosion, resilience, and ecological restoration. You’ll combine technical expertise, project leadership, and client engagement to deliver sustainable solutions with lasting impact.

 

What You’ll Do:

• Design coastal infrastructure including levees, seawalls, marsh restoration, and other resilience projects
• Manage projects from concept through completion, including budgets, schedules, and resources
• Prepare and coordinate regulatory permits and compliance documentation
• Conduct field inspections and provide construction oversight
• Coordinate with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams
• Mentor junior engineers and support a collaborative team environment
• Build relationships with municipalities, clients, and project stakeholders
• Assist with business development, proposals, and identifying new project opportunities
• Help clients pursue funding for coastal infrastructure and resilience projects

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required; Master’s degree preferred
• 7+ years of experience in municipal or coastal engineering
• Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS applications
• Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, municipalities, and multidisciplinary teams
